On 7-8 October 2026, Grupa Transportowa took part in the International Economic Forum for the first time, which took place at the Conference Centre of the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. Three of our experts spoke in discussion panels: Dietmar Dahmen spoke about the role of leadership, Rafał Łuczak about data, security and infrastructure in the era of AI, and Krystian Kalinowski about international trade and customs regulations. The Group's wide team was on site, from the management board to the branches. During the forum, we also received the European Economic Award 2026.

A forum where decision-makers talk

The International Economic Forum is organized by the European Centre for Economic Development. This year's eighth edition took place on 7-8 October in Superauto.pl Silesian Stadium Conference Centre in Chorzów. The honorary patronage of the event was taken by m.in. Employers of the Republic of Poland, of which Grupa Transportowa is a member. The organizers send invitations to company owners, presidents, members of management boards and directors. That is why the discussions at the forum are specific. Representatives of business, local governments and science meet at one table. The program included over twenty thematic panels. The discussions concerned, among m.in, leadership, IT and artificial intelligence, transport and mobility, innovation, green transformation, business law and taxes, health care and the real estate market. For our team, it was the first edition of the forum.

Our experts in panels

Dietmar Dahmen - "Leader of the Future" Member of the Board and Director of Controlling Dietmar Dahmen spoke in a panel on leadership. The program included leadership based on values and trust, wellbeing and responsibility of the leader, and preparing the organization for uncertain times. Dietmar pointed out that a good leader starts by taking care of his own health, both physical and mental. The second pillar is the ability to find a balance between control and trust. Rafał Łuczak - "IT & AI: Data, Security and Infrastructure in the Era of AI" CITO Rafał Łuczak talked about what needs to happen in a company before artificial intelligence starts to bring results. The first step is order in the data. In logistics, the same information often functions in several systems at the same time, e.g. in TMS, WMS and ERP, and each saves it differently. Other topics include system integration, data security and the costs of implementing AI on a larger scale. Rafał Łuczak referred to the Group's experience, including the digital twin ofGT Logistics magazine and the BRAIN platform. At his invitation, Jan Rosek also spoke in the panel. Krystian Kalinowski - "Global business and international cooperation" Krystian Kalinowski, President of GT AGO, touched on the controversial customs regulations and the challenges faced by exporters and importers today. He stressed the importance of proper preparation of documentation and permits in the destination country and in transit countries.

A wide team on site

Apart from the panelists, we were joined by Vice President of the Management Board Michał Macherowski, Proxy Violetta Kaczmarek, Commercial Director Magdalena Lipska (Więckowska), Branch Managers Paweł Kasprzyk and Tomasz Szlachcic and Automotive & Time-Critical Logistics Consultant Mariusz Płaczek. Together with TMR, we are developing the technology that we use in the Group on a daily basis. We wanted to have a person who looks at logistics from the point of view of technology with us at the forum. The composition of the team was not accidental. As a logistics operator of 4PL, we combine sea and air freight, road transport, customs clearance, warehousing and insurance. On the forum, each interlocutor could come across a person who knows his topic from the practical side.

European Economic Award 2026

During the forum, we received the European Economic Award 2026. The Program Jury of the International Economic Forum appreciated the transformation of the Transport Group into an integrated logistics operator with an international scale of operation. Our innovations and AI implementations were also included in the justification. We write more about the award itself and the justification of the Jury in a separate article: Grupa Transportowa the winner of the European Economic Award 2026.

Talks that will continue

The Forum ended with an evening banquet. After two days of panels, it was time to talk calmly and get to know each other better. We would like to thank everyone for the conversations, meetings and time spent together. We would like to thank the European Centre for Economic Development and the Editorial Board of Economic Panorama for the distinction and the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience.
