On October 8 at the ADN Conference Center in Warsaw, Grupa Transportowa hosted a challenge during the PARP Innovation Deep Dive workshops. Throughout the day, representatives of IT and AI companies, TSL practitioners, advisors and scientists worked on topics that our forwarders face on a daily basis. We came back with new contacts and conversations that can turn into joint projects.
Why we support Polish technology companies
Polish technology companies have competence and ambition. They often lack access to real problems from large organizations. A system or algorithm can be tested on sample data, but its value can only be seen when compared to the daily work of a logistics operator.
Grupa Transportowa has been operating for over 25 years. We employ over 500 people in 27 branches, and in 2025 the group's turnover exceeded one billion zlotys. With such a scale, every day there are situations where Polish technology teams can test their ideas. We believe that a large Polish logistics operator should share this experience with the market. Participation in the Innovation Deep Dive was one of the ways to do this.
[OPTIONAL] We know from our own experience how much such cooperation gives. The implementation of AI and a digital twin in the GT Logistics warehouse brought us the Polish Logistics Society Award this year, and we will represent Poland in the European Logistics Association Awards.
For years, we have also been cooperating with universities, including the Lodz University of Technology and the Wrocław University of Technology. PARP workshops combine both of these worlds: business and science at one table, on one specific topic.
Innovation Deep Dive, or one day of work on a case from a real company
Innovation Deep Dive is a series of one-day expert workshops organized by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. They are held as part of the Connect & Scale Up Digital project, funded by the European Funds for Modern Economy 2021-2027 program.
The formula is simple. The host company presents a challenge from its daily operations, and participants from different backgrounds work on solutions throughout the day. There are no lectures or sales presentations. There is work in small, interdisciplinary groups and about 30 people who know the topic from the practical side.
In 2026, the workshops were hosted by companies from the manufacturing, pharmacy and food industries. The October edition concerned transport, forwarding and logistics.Workshop topic: how data and AI can support decisions in TSL
The topic raised by the Transport Group concerned the use of data, analytics and artificial intelligence in operational and business decisions. This is a challenge that the entire industry is facing.
Today, a transport company has huge amounts of data at its disposal. It comes from TMS and ERP systems, telematics, freight exchanges, correspondence with customers and carriers. The problem is that they are rarely in one place. A freight forwarder who needs to make a decision quickly often collects information from several sources at the same time.
The role of technology is clear here. The decision is still made by a human. Data and AI are supposed to make it faster and on more complete information. The course of the workshop: from diagnosis to solutions that can be tested in practice
The workshops lasted from 9:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. After the presentation of the Transport Group, the participants moved on to diagnosing the challenge. Then, in groups, they designed solutions, and at the end they chose those that could be tested in practice the fastest.
Our team did not limit itself to presentations. Throughout the day, they worked at tables together with the participants, answering questions and consulting emerging ideas on an ongoing basis. Thanks to this, solutions were created from the beginning based on the realities of the forwarder's work, and not on assumptions.
Part of the conversations also concerned the Group itself. The participants drew attention to the scale and diversity of our activities: road, sea and air freight forwarding, ferry transport, warehouse logistics, customs clearance and insurance.
Freight forwarders and IT experts in one team
A team consisting of two perspectives went to Warsaw. The forwarding company was represented by Mateusz Piesik, Dominik Kostrzewa and Bartosz Jadwiszczak. They know best what everyday work with an order looks like and where technology can really help.
Technological support was provided by our IT experts, Szymon Lemański and Przemysław Sowiński. They helped forwarders in talks with technology suppliers and in evaluating proposed solutions. We thank them for their commitment throughout the day. What we take away from Innovation Deep Dive
The most important effect is relationships. We have completed workshops with new contacts among technology suppliers, experts and representatives of science. Some of these conversations may soon turn into joint projects.
We thank the technology suppliers for their commitment, professionalism and all the conversations and discussions. We would like to thank the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the organizers for a well-prepared event and the opportunity to work on topics important for the entire TSL industry.
